Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Poteet's Third in Last Four Outings

Poteet posted their closest win since February 29, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top against the Ben Bolt Badgers by a score of 10-9 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Aggies also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Poteet got a big performance out of Leona Curbey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Liliana Garzes was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Poteet was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in 11 consecutive matches.

Poteet has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. Ben Bolt dropped their record down to 0-7-1 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Poteet has already played their next game (against Varsity Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Ben Bolt, they have already played their next matchup, a 12-6 defeat against Cole on the 28th.
