Basketball Game Preview: College Park Falcons vs. Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles

College Park is 2-8 against Clayton Valley Charter since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The College Park Falcons are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will take on the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles at 7:30 p.m. College Park knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Clayton Valley Charter likes a good challenge.

College Park took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They managed a 61-57 victory over Livermore. The win was all the more spectacular given the Falcons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 499th, while the Cowboys are ranked 187th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead College Park to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mathys Joseph, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 21 boards. The dominant performance gave Joseph a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Cooper, who posted 16 points.

Meanwhile, Clayton Valley Charter came up short against Mount Si on Monday and fell 50-41.

Clayton Valley Charter's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for College Park, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

College Park came out on top in a nail-biter against Clayton Valley Charter in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, sneaking past 44-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for College Park since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
