Recap: Booker T. Washington Wildcats vs. Tate Aggies
The Booker T. Washington Wildcats had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 58-51 win over Tate. Given Booker T. Washington's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Tate is ranked 281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alex Jasquith continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Brown, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Tate's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Williams, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Deonne Williams, jr., who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Booker T. Washington's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Tate, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Booker T. Washington will take on Pensacola at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pensacola is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. As for Tate, they will stay at home for another game and welcome West Florida at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. West Florida has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
