Monroe-Woodbury extends road winning streak to six

Recap: Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders vs. Warwick Wildcats

The Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders lost to the Warwick Wildcats back in January of 2023, but the Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders didn't allow the Warwick Wildcats the same satisfaction on Monday. Monroe-Woodbury walked away with a 50-43 win over Warwick. Given Monroe-Woodbury's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Warwick is ranked 245th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Monroe-Woodbury's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jankarlos Mendoza led the charge by scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kyle McDermott, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and four steals.

Monroe-Woodbury pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Warwick, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monroe-Woodbury will take on Washingtonville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Warwick, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Port Jervis at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th.
