Lanier won the last time they faced Gainesville, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Everything went the Lanier Longhorns' way against the Gainesville Red Elephants as the Lanier Longhorns made off with an 11-2 win. The Longhorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight runs or more this season.
Hannah Ridley tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Peyton Crouse, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Lanier didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with six strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've posted since back in October of 2023.
