While Riverview Sarasota's win against Charlotte wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Fightin' Tarpons 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-0 back in March.

Allison Cole was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Cole wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ella Trandem, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Riverview Sarasota and bumps their season record up to 18-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Charlotte, they dropped their record down to 10-13 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverview Sarasota will take on Southeast at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Seminoles have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Charlotte, they will challenge Lake Placid at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
