Volleyball Recap: Granby's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Granby came tearing into Wednesday's game with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Lake Taylor Titans as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Comets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Titans, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Granby took every set by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-6, 25-10.

Granby's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Davis Mendoza, who had 12 digs and four aces. Mendoza is crushing it when it comes to aces: he's served at least two every time he's taken the court this season. CJ Deberio was another key player, getting three digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good server: Granby was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 26 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Granby's record is now 5-0. As for Lake Taylor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Granby and Lake Taylor will both be playing Booker T. Washington the next time they take the court. The Comets will head out to face the Mighty Bookers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Titans will host them at 5:30 p.m. on October 1.
