Eustis is 10-0 against Tavares since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Eustis Panthers will face off against the Tavares Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Eustis knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Tavares likes a good challenge.

Eustis is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 61-16 win over Mount Dora. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 580th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eustis' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cornelius Hines, who went 6 for 8 en route to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Riley, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 11 points.

Eustis smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Tavares waltzed into their game on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They secured a 49-43 W over the Leopards.

Tavares has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Eustis, their win bumped their record up to 17-8.

Everything came up roses for Eustis against Tavares in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, as the team secured an 82-22 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eustis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
