Basketball Game Preview: Ellicott Thunderhawks vs. Colorado Springs Christian Lions

The Ellicott Thunderhawks will challenge the Colorado Springs Christian Lions at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Thursday, Ellicott humbled Florence with a 54-21 victory. The win continues a trend for the Thunderhawks in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Colorado Springs Christian took on Woodland Park on Thursday. Colorado Springs Christian simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Woodland Park 72-10. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Colorado Springs Christian's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.0 points over those games. As for Ellicott, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.

Ellicott took a serious blow against Colorado Springs Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 87-22. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ellicott was down 58-10.
