Softball Game Preview: Gate City Blue Devils vs. John Battle Trojans

Gate City is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will head out on the road to face off against the John Battle Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Gate City is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Gate City's offense. They fell 4-0 to Eastside on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, John Battle also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Union by a score of 11-7.

John Battle's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Gate City, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Gate City couldn't quite get it done against John Battle when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-0. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
