Volleyball Recap: Lanphier Takes a Loss

Lanphier had lost ten straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 6-25 to make it 11. They fell just short of the MacArthur Generals by a score of 2-1. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Generals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Miley Frakes paced Lanphier's offense, picking up 11 kills. Frakes got some help from Elizabeth Powell and her 14 assists. Finally, Frakes was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

As for MacArthur, their victory ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 7-17. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted against Lanphier since October 8, 2019.

MacArthur found their leader in sophomore Natalya Manns, who had 20 assists and five aces.

Lanphier didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Clinton on the 22nd. MacArthur does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
