Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Thief River Falls' Fourth in Last Five Outings

Warroad came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Thief River Falls, but Bridger Wilcox wouldn't allow it. The Thief River Falls Prowlers pulled ahead with a 62-61 photo finish over the Warroad Warriors on Friday for which the team can thank Wilcox, who on his way to 29 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Thief River Falls' points.

Everett Nelson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. Thief River Falls is 11-5 when Nelson posts ten or more rebounds, but 1-3 otherwise.

Thief River Falls is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Warroad's defeat dropped their record down to 22-4.

Coming up, Thief River Falls will challenge Perham at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Thief River Falls is on a four-game streak of home wins, Perham a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Warroad does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
