Recap: St. Elizabeth Vikings vs. St. Georges Tech Hawks
The St. Elizabeth Vikings are still undefeated this season after their match against the St. Georges Tech Hawks on Thursday, but the St. Georges Tech Hawks came as close as anyone has to beating them. St. Elizabeth narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past St. Georges Tech 59-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
St. Georges Tech's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shane Davis, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Blair Thomas, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds.
St. Elizabeth's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for St. Georges Tech, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.
St. Elizabeth will finish 2023 at home by hosting Tower Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Georges Tech and Woodson will round out the year against one another at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday at. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Woodson is ranked 25th in District of Columbia, while St. Georges Tech is ranked 12th in Delaware).
