Lizzie McGrath leads Riverwood to victory over South Cobb

Recap: Riverwood Raiders vs. South Cobb Eagles

The Riverwood Raiders won the last time they faced the South Cobb Eagles, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Riverwood came out on top against South Cobb by a score of 51-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Riverwood.

Lizzie McGrath was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Riverwood's points. Another player making a difference was Zori Tarrance, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Despite the loss, South Cobb saw an underclassman step up: LaDashia Taylor scored 18 points. That was a full 47.4% of South Cobb's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiyana Boyd-Ghani, who scored eight points.

Riverwood now has a winning record of 7-6. As for South Cobb, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverwood will take on Marist at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Marist will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for South Cobb, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Pius X Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Pius X Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Cobb in Georgia (St. Pius X Catholic is ranked 191st, while South Cobb is ranked 391st).
