Baseball Game Preview: Mountlake Terrace Hawks vs. Arlington Eagles

The Mountlake Terrace Hawks will head out to face off against the Arlington Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mountlake Terrace came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-3 to Snohomish.

Meanwhile, Arlington didn't have quite enough to beat Monroe on Friday and fell 6-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Bearcats: they've now lost seven in a row.

Billy Kooy and Avery Klein did some serious damage despite the final result: Kooy went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Klein went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That RBI was Klein's first of the season. Aiden Jones was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Mountlake Terrace's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Arlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Mountlake Terrace skirted past Arlington 3-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
