Football Game Preview: Temescal Canyon Titans vs. San Jacinto Tigers

Temescal Canyon hasn't had much luck against San Jacinto recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Titans will venture away from home to square off against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Temescal Canyon has given up an average of 28.6 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Temescal Canyon after they put the first points on the board last Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. The contest between Temescal Canyon and Tahquitz didn't end well, with Temescal Canyon falling 35-20. While Temescal Canyon didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Tahquitz 7-0 in the first quarter.

Thomas Hibinski III put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 61 yards and a pair of scores.

Temescal Canyon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Adrian Flores and Ty'Jean Wayne. Flores got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, San Jacinto waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 63-0 shutout. The Tigers pushed the score to 56-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs had no chance of recovering from.

San Jacinto's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Temescal Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Thursday's game might be decided on the ground. Temescal Canyon has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 169.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like San Jacinto struggles in that department as they've been averaging 182.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Temescal Canyon was taken down by San Jacinto 46-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
