Basketball Recap: Sky View Bobcats vs. Green Canyon Wolves
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ridgeline, the Sky View Bobcats were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They blew past Green Canyon 56-36. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 22 to 9 on the offensive boards, as Sky View did.
Claire Fischer was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 19 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Flaherty, who scored ten points.
Despite the loss, Green Canyon had strong showings from Talyssa Nelson, who scored 12 points, and Tori Jeppson, who scored nine points.
Sky View's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Green Canyon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sky View will take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Crest is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Green Canyon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bear River focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
