Basketball Recap: Freeport Comes Up Short

Freeport lost against York back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Freeport Falcons lost to the York Wildcats on the road by a 63-46 margin. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Wildcats are ranked fifth).

This is the second loss in a row for Freeport and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for York, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Freeport will head out on the road to challenge Gardiner at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for York, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Kennebunk at 12:00 p.m. One thing working in York's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
