Basketball Recap: Desert Hills' Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Desert Hills can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They secured a 69-64 W over the Pine View Panthers. The Thunder have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Pine View's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Reese Gustin, who posted 19 points in addition to seven steals and five assists, and Ella Fiefia, who went 6 for 7 on her way to 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Fiefia has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Casey Morley, who had 12 points in addition to seven boards and six steals.

Desert Hills' victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-6. As for Pine View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.

Desert Hills will head out to challenge Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pine View, they will host Crimson Cliffs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season.
