Basketball Recap: Southwestern Comes Up Short

Southwestern lost against Coppin Academy back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Southwestern Sabers took a hard 51-37 fall against the Coppin Academy Golden Eagles. The Sabers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it 18 in a row dating back to last season.

Southwestern's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Coppin Academy, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-2.

Southwestern wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 68-16 win against National Academy Foundation on the 19th. As for Coppin Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Forest Park at 5:15 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
