Basketball Game Preview: Freer Buckaroos vs. Premont Cowboys

The Freer Buckaroos will take on the Premont Cowboys at 6:16 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Freer's favor as the team sits on 13 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Premont has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Last Tuesday, Freer lost to Agua Dulce on the road by a 43-27 margin.

Meanwhile, Premont had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 39-34 win over La Villa on Tuesday.

Premont's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Freer, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-4.

Everything came up roses for Freer against Premont in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-16 win. Does Freer have another victory up their sleeve, or will Premont turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
