 Gibson Southern waltzed into their game  on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They had just enough and edged the North Posey Vikings out  12-10. Gibson Southern's win was all the more impressive since North Posey was averaging only 3.65 runs allowed on the season.
  Carly Potts made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and seven unearned) runs off   ten  hits. Potts has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than six  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Potts was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Laney Scherer was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4.  Ally Malone was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 On North Posey's side,  Jenna Wehmer led a balanced group of hitters,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run and four  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Sibyl Renshaw, who  got on base  in all five of her plate appearances with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Even though they lost, North Posey  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 16  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
 Gibson Southern pushed their record up to 20-4 with that  victory, which was their 12th straight  at home dating back to last season. As for North Posey, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost three of their last four contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record  this season.
