On Thursday Ava Lorenzatti struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). The effort also marked the fewest walks (zero) Lorenzatti has had since back in May of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was her third in a row with less than two hits. For the year, she has been strong no matter where she plays. On the mound, she has an ERA of .43 over 16.3 innings pitched. Meanwhile, at bat she has slashed 0.412/0.412/0.765 with 4 runs and just as many RBI.

Lorenzatti's effort led Beecher over Grant Park and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
