Baseball Recap: Union Academy Find Success

Union Academy proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by nine) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Corvian Community 8-6. Union Academy hasn't had any issues with Corvian Community recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Aiden Mills and Ethan Edwards did most of the damage at the plate: Mills went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run, while Edwards went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave Mills a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ethan Rowe, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Union Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Union Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Corvian Community, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union Academy will host Carmel Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Cougars have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Corvian Community, they will square off against Langtree Charter Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
