Basketball Recap: Elkhorn North Comes Up Short on the Road Against Papillion-Lavista South

Elkhorn North had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 69-68 to the Papillion-LaVista South Titans. While the Wolves didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Titans 20-13 in the first quarter.

Elkhorn North lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Nike Orgilbold, who shot 50% from the field en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Sutton Piatkowski, who went 6-for-15 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds.

Levi Webb was nothing short of spectacular for Papillion-LaVista South: he shot 67% from the field to rack up 34 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. Webb is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 63% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Connor Falkinburg was another key player, going 5-for-9 en route to 16 points.

The win got Papillion-LaVista South back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Elkhorn North won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Platteview at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Papillion-LaVista South, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Western Christian on Thursday.
