Volleyball Game Preview: Collinsville Kahoks vs. Belleville East Lancers

Collinsville hasn't had much luck against Belleville East recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Kahoks will take on the Lancers at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Collinsville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Alton by a score of 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Kahoks in their matchups with the Redbirds: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Belleville East waltzed into their game last Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Tigers.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Belleville East got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 21-25, 25-19.

Collinsville better keep an eye on Andrew Neutzling. He was instrumental in Belleville East's win, getting 11 digs and three assists. Those three assists gave Neutzling a new career-high.

Belleville East's win was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-7. As for Collinsville, their victory bumped their record up to 14-16.

Collinsville couldn't quite get it done against Belleville East in their previous matchup on May 6th as they fell 2-0. Can the Kahoks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
