Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Wasatch walked away with it. They secured a 61-57 W over the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Wasps sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Despite the loss, Maple Mountain saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Leah Bailey went 7-for-13 to rack up 21 points and three steals. Bailey's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Shay Brown, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Wasatch's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games. As for Maple Mountain, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

Wasatch will take on Timpview at 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Lina Ballin and Peyton Behnke. Maple Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
