Baseball Game Preview: Lone Pine Golden Eagles vs. Mammoth Huskies

Lone Pine is 0-10 against Mammoth since May of 2017 but things could change on Friday. Lone Pine will be playing in front of their home fans against Mammoth at 3:15 p.m. Lone Pine has given up an average of 19.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lone Pine barely beat Mineral County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Lone Pine blew past Mineral County 20-12 last Tuesday. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Serpents recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Quezada, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Lone Pine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Mammoth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 12-0 to Kern Valley.

Mammoth's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Lone Pine, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Mammoth's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lone Pine has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. It's a different story for Mammoth, though, as they've only averaged .313. Will they be able to contain Lone Pine's hitters?
