Football Game Preview: Gayville-Volin vs. Corsica/Stickney

Gayville-Volin will challenge Corsica/Stickney on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Both of these teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 8-52, which was the final score in Gayville-Volin's tilt against Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian last Friday. The state rankings had actually given Gayville-Volin a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.

Meanwhile, if Corsica/Stickney were riding high off their 59-6 takedown of Centerville two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Corsica/Stickney took a serious blow against Colome, falling 8-60. Corsica/Stickney's low-scoring defeat was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the matchup before.

With the two teams each stumbling in off of a loss, both will be hungry for the win. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
