Baseball Recap: Edison Academy Pioneers vs. Fenton Tigers        
        
		
            
 After flying high against Taylor Prep  last Monday, Edison Academy came back down to earth. The Edison Academy Pioneers fell just short of the Fenton Tigers by a score of  8-7 on Saturday. Edison Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fenton apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in May of 2023.
  Parker Xavier was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned  (and four unearned) runs off   six  hits.
 At the plate,  DeShawn Williams and  Kyle Norton did some serious damage despite the final result:  Williams  went 1-for-4 with a  home run and two  RBI, while  Norton  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jordan Jones, who  scored a  run and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances.
 Edison Academy dropped their record down to 1-1 with that  loss, which was their fourth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edison Academy will  square off against Lakeland at 4:00  p.m.  in Wednesday's  first game. As for Fenton, they will head out on the road to  take on  Holly at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday.
