PHOENIX, Ariz. - After six lead changes,
Brophy College Prep (Phoenix, Ariz.) took the lead for good when
Tyler Bruggman ran for a touchdown with 10:00 remaining in the third quarter and held on to upset
Chandler (Ariz.) 54-44 on Saturday.
The Wolves pulled ahead on a
Will Edwards touchdown run, and subsequently went into halftime leading 31-28. The Broncos took the lead for good with a touchdown run by Bruggman in the third quarter.
Darell Garretson, who passed for four touchdowns, was a bright spot for Chandler during the defeat.
Bruggman played well for Brophy College Prep in the victory. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. A member of the Top Pro-Style Quarterbacks, Bruggman has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
CHS's Garretson played well. The senior quarterback ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to 11 on the year.
