Basketball Game Preview: Monument Academy Lynx vs. Hanover Hornets

The Monument Academy Lynx will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Hanover Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Monument Academy came up short against Miami-Yoder and fell 41-32. The defeat continues a trend for the Lynx in their meetings with the Buffaloes: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Hanover hadn't done well against Primero recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Hornets came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 45-38. The game was the first time the Hornets have beaten the Bulldogs on their court since February 4, 2023.

Hanover's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points over those games. As for Monument Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Monument Academy took a serious blow against Hanover in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 80-7. Thankfully for the Lynx, Junior Diaz (who dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
