Baseball Recap: Penobscot Valley Takes a Loss

Penobscot Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Stearns Minutemen. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Howlers of the 13-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Penobscot Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Stearns, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Penobscot Valley will venture away from home to take on Schenck at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Howlers will need to watch out since the Wolverines have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Stearns, they will face off against Greenville at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
