Monticello and Barneveld are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2021, but not for long. The Ponies will square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Thursday, Monticello came up short against Argyle and fell 3-1.

Monticello started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-10, 25-19, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Barneveld entered their tilt with Pecatonica on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Vikings.

Barneveld wouldn't go down easily and took Pecatonica into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 26-24, 25-18, 23-25, 15-10.

Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Barneveld, their win bumped their record up to 16-7.

Monticello suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Barneveld when the teams last played back in September. Can the Ponies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
