Softball Recap: McKinley Trojans vs. Cuyahoga Heights Red Wolves
McKinley and Cuyahoga Heights squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but McKinley had to settle for second. They lost 16-0 to the Red Wolves. The shutout was out of character for the Trojans seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.
McKinley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Threet, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.
McKinley's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Cuyahoga Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
McKinley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cuyahoga Heights, they will be taking part in a tournament against Maplewood at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rockets will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Red Wolves surely won't give up without a fight.
