Basketball Game Preview: Malcolm Clippers vs. Wahoo Warriors

Malcolm has won three straight games at home, while Wahoo has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Malcolm Clippers will take on the Wahoo Warriors in a tournament on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Malcolm's tournament run continued when they took on Ralston on Monday. Malcolm simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ralston 69-19. The Clippers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Wahoo posted their closest victory since January 30, 2024 on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Platteview, sneaking past 40-38.

Wahoo found their leader in freshman Claire Emerson, who went 5 for 9 en route to 14 points along with five boards and four steals. Those four steals gave Emerson a new career-high.

Wahoo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.4 points per game. As for Malcolm, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.

Malcolm couldn't quite finish off Wahoo in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 and fell 46-44. Can Malcolm avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
