Baseball Game Preview: Cameron Dragons vs. Hundred Hornets

Cameron has gone a perfect 8-0 against Hundred recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Dragons will square off against the Hornets at 5:00 p.m. Cameron is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Cameron came into this matchup off a tough 13-run loss on Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of East Hardy by a score of 8-6 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Dragons have suffered since March 24th.

Zayde Long made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and two RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.

Meanwhile, Hundred hadn't done well against Paden City recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Hornets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats, sneaking past 14-13.

Hundred's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Cameron, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-10.

Cameron took their victory against Hundred in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 16-3 score. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
