Softball Preview: Tate Aggies vs. Niceville Eagles
Tate is 0-10 against Niceville since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tate Aggies will look to defend their home field against the Niceville Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Tate will be strutting in after a win while Niceville will be coming in after a defeat.
Tate scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against Crestview as Tate made off with a 12-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Tate.
Kara Wine was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Blakely Campbell, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Niceville's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Florida on Tuesday. Niceville's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Niceville also got a good showing from Chloe Bailey, who struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Bailey has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances.
Tate's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Niceville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7-1.
