Baseball Game Preview: Port Allegany Gators vs. Johnsonburg Rams

The Port Allegany Gators are taking a road trip to take on the Johnsonburg Rams at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Port Allegany has four straight wins, Johnsonburg has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Port Allegany gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Cameron County as they made off with a 15-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Gators, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Kellen Veilleux was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Tyler Fillhart, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Johnsonburg's offense. They came up short against Clarion Area on Monday, falling 12-0.

Johnsonburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Port Allegany, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.

Port Allegany beat Johnsonburg 6-1 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gators since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
