Independence has gone a perfect 3-0 against Evergreen Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The 76ers will take on the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Independence is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games.
On Friday, Independence needed a bit of extra time to put away Harker. They had just enough and edged out the Eagles 7-6.

Julieta Ramirez was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over eight innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Laila Morales and Ava Sanchez did most of the damage at the plate: Morales went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double, while Sanchez scored a run while going 1-for-2. That double was Morales' first of the season.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Evergreen Valley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Mt. Pleasant on Friday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Aliyah Villalba, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Independence's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Evergreen Valley, their victory ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Independence has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Evergreen Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Independence's way against Evergreen Valley in their previous meeting back in March, as Independence made off with a 10-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the 76ers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
