            Basketball Preview: St. Mary's Rams vs. Modesto Christian Crusaders        
        
		
        
        
            St. Mary is 1-9 against Modesto Christian since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Wednesday. The St. Mary's Rams will head out on the road to  challenge  the Modesto Christian Crusaders  at 7:30  p.m. St. Mary's is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.1  points per game  this season.
St. Mary's is headed into the  game out to prove that what happened against Lincoln  on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. St. Mary's came up short against  Lincoln, falling  71-49. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings  (they are ranked 290th, while the Trojans are ranked seventh).

 Despite the  loss, St. Mary's had strong showings from  Vincent Arnaudo, who  posted 13 points and eight  rebounds, and  Jeremy Krause, who  scored six  points along with seven  boards and four  blocks. That's the most points  Arnaudo has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mason Eagal, who  had four  points.
 Meanwhile,  after a string of five wins, Modesto Christian's good fortune finally ran out  on Monday. They fell to St. Joseph  67-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game  on Wednesday (55), the Crusaders still had to take the loss.
 This is the second loss in a row for St. Mary's and  nudges their season record down to 9-10. As for Modesto Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.
 St. Mary's might still be hurting after the  70-49 loss they got from Modesto Christian  in their previous meeting  back in January of 2024. Can St. Mary's avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
