Baseball Game Preview: Peebles Indians vs. West Union Dragons

The Peebles Indians will head out on the road to face off against the West Union Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Peebles and nine for West Union dating back to last season.

Manchester hit Peebles with a five-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-4 to the Greyhounds, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Brandon Rayburn was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for West Union's offense. They came up short against Lynchburg-Clay on Tuesday, falling 28-0.

West Union's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Peebles, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Peebles took their victory against West Union in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 16-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
