Basketball Recap: Temi Yesufu's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mather over Clark

Mather was the 53-52 winner over Clark when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mather Rangers took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clark Eagles on Thursday.

Mather's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Temi Yesufu, who went 6 for 9 to rack up 14 points in addition to six blocks and five rebounds. Those six blocks gave Yesufu a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Janelle Eliot, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 13 points along with six boards and three blocks.

Mather's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Clark, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5-1 record this season.

Coming up, Mather will challenge Noble Street College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clark does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
