Basketball Recap: Middletown Comes Up Short on the Road Against Gilbert

Middletown had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 49-34 bruising from the Gilbert Yellowjackets on Saturday.

Despite the loss, Middletown saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Rielle Jackson posted 11 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jannat Fares, who put up six points.

Middletown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-44 defeat against Berlin on the 16th. As for Gilbert, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bristol Central at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th.
