Softball Recap: El Capitan's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Otay Ranch, El Capitan was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Valhalla Norsemen a 3-0 shutout. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Vaqueros as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Not much got past Makenna Burton, who gave up just two hits to keep Valhalla off the board.

At the plate, El Capitan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brynlie Ford, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits Ford has posted since back in February.

El Capitan's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-11. As for Valhalla, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
