Baseball Recap: O'Dea Gets the Win

O'Dea posted their closest win since May 14, 2025 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Seattle Academy Cardinals 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Fighting Irish, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

O'Dea is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Seattle Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. O'Dea will square off against rival Eastside Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Seattle Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Roosevelt at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cardinals 2.4, the Roughriders 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
