The Desert Heights Prep Yote will take on the Ray Bearcats at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Desert Heights Prep has six straight wins, Ray has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, Desert Heights Prep needed a bit of extra time to put away Antelope. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Rams. The four-run effort marked the Yote's lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Justin Aguon was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Ray faced off against Superior on Friday. Ray took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Superior.
Ray saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rj Nunez, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Jaxon Cude was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Desert Heights Prep pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Ray, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
Ray's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Desert Heights Prep hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. It's a different story for Ray, though, as they've only averaged .248. Will they be able to contain Desert Heights Prep's hitters?
Everything went Desert Heights Prep's way against Ray in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Desert Heights Prep made off with an 11-1 win. Will Desert Heights Prep repeat their success, or does Ray has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
