Softball Recap: University Prep Takes a Loss

University Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Twelve Bridges Raging Rhinos.

Aubrey Caudell and Rylee Villano stepped up to the plate in a big way. Caudell went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Villano went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Petty, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

University Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Twelve Bridges, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Looking ahead, University Prep will take on Nevada Union in a tournament on Saturday. The Miners have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Twelve Bridges, they will face off against Wheatland at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Raging Rhinos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season.
