Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Winnfield). They never let the Mansfield Wolverines get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Friday. With that victory, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Winnfield got a massive performance out of Jacob Whisonant, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Whisonant has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was John Michael Pickett, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2.

Winnfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Winnfield's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Mansfield, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Winnfield will face off against Pineville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mansfield, they will take on Zwolle at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Mansfield has given up an average of 22.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
