Shepard and Mother McAuley squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Shepard had to settle for second. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mighty Macs. The Astros' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-10.

Shepard's defeat dropped their record down to 26-10. As for Mother McAuley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-4 record this season.

Shepard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mother McAuley, they will take on St. Laurence at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
